Encompass Health Center
Piedmont and Encompass Health hosted a groundbreaking ceremony today for the future inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Columbus. The 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital will be located at 8321 Veterans Parkway and is expected to begin caring for patients in summer 2023.
The future freestanding hospital will care for patients recovering from debilitating illnesses and injuries, including stroke and other neurological disorders, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions and will feature all private patient rooms, a spacious therapy gym with advanced rehabilitation technologies, an activities of daily living suite, and a cafeteria, dining room, pharmacy and therapy courtyard.
The hospital will be an expansion of the current joint venture partnership between Encompass Health and Piedmont, which includes three hospitals- Encompass Health of Newnan, Rehabilitation Hospital of Henry, and Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in Phenix City– plus a future location inside Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.
